MSV Ambasi Liveaboard Details

After seven years of sailing through eastern Indonesia waters (including Sulawesi, Moluccas and Papua), the motor sailer Phinisi Ambasi settled down five years ago in the waters around the Komodo National Park. The owner has over 12 years experience with the Phinisi Ambasi in the eastern Indonesia seas with the same crew, and promises professional, relaxed and friendly operations, local Indonesian style.

Privacy on board

The MSV Phinisi Ambasi is relatively small (21m or 70ft) and has four air-conditioned cabins so sleeps a maximum of eight persons. Each cabin has a private toilet with cold and hot shower. You may charter the boat for a number of days for your private use with your family or your friends. The same professional crew who have been with the boat for over 12 years now will take care of your needs and leave you to enjoy your days at sea. This boat is a great deal for individuals, couples or a group.

Diving Cruises

For the live-aboard diving cruises we provide two Bauer compressors, 18 tanks, and belts and weights. On request we also provide other diving equipment (BCDs, wet suits, regulators, fins, etc.)

Most of our dives will be done from the Ambasi. Divers prepare for the dives on deck and descend from the boat into the water. Under the leadership of the dive guide (who will brief you on deck before getting into the water), you are going to dive in one of the most amazing dive sites of the world. The motorized dinghy will be stand-by above the divers during the dive for immediate assistance and pick up. After the dive, when you are on the surface again, the BCD and tanks can be put in the dinghy and you swim to the MSV Phinisi Ambasi, which stands-by near the dive-spot, and ascend the stair or ladder to the deck. The crew takes care of your gear for you.

Leisure Cruises

Leisure cruises in the surrounding of the waters of Komodo are a very extraordinary experience. Beside the giant Komodo dragons and other unusual wildlife on the islands, you can snorkel in the crystal clear water.

One of the well-known snorkel-spots is Pantai Merah (Pink Beach), where you imagine yourself being in an aquarium. Between the snorkel sessions, you can sunbathe on the beach or play soccer with the crew.

Sea voyages between the islands seem now and then very much like expeditions as you're usually all by yourself. Many times our ship is accompanied by dolphins; sometimes a manta ray or a whale. We barbecue freshly bought fish from the locals each evening either on the boat or on a quiet beach.

Take Part in the Activities

Our guest feel at home aboard ship right away. Traveling in such a special way is adventurous and comfortable at the same time. If you wish, you may assist the crew with steering, navigating and hoisting the sails. During the cruise the crew welcome an occasional helping hand from you during the daily routine aboard. For this purpose experience in sailing is not required. You may also cast a fishing line, take a refreshing dip in the sea, or enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. Finally, with a snack and a drink, it is nice reading on the sundeck, or simply doze away on the swaying deck. The brilliant starry sky at night, reflected in the tropical waters will add to making your sea adventure an unforgettable holiday.
